German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the return of the country to its former relations with Russia is impossible. His words are quoted by TASS.

“It is clear that in relations with Russia there can be no return to the time before its attack on Ukraine,” the head of the German government said after the second day of the G7 summit.

He called the conflict in Ukraine a turning point in international relations and accused Russia of violating the existing rules and norms of world politics.

Earlier, Olaf Scholz said that he is not yet ready to refuse to participate in the G20 summit in November if Russian President Vladimir Putin is present there. He urged other countries to also "not torpedo" the event because of this.

In June, Scholz also spoke of the impossibility of imagining a partnership with Russia in the foreseeable future.
